For those who have been wondering if there has been quite some influence of South style action in Salman Khan films right from WANTED to JAI HO, there is some good news. His next, KICK would be high on some stylized action a la ‘Dhoom’ series. In fact the mandate is clear for those behind the action that it has to belong to never seen before variety and surpass what audience has experienced in last year’s blockbusters DHOOM 3 and KRRISH 3.
While KICK is very high on action, what makes it different for Salman is that it has a background similar to that of ‘Dhoom’ as far as adrenalin pumping sequences are concerned. For producer and first time director Sajid Nadiadwala, it was imperative that some cutting edge backdrop aids those numerous bike and car chases that form a major part of KICK.

Moreover, the film is being mounted on a very lavish scale by Sajid as there is no cost cutting involved and the mounting is as huge as it gets. Fortunately for Salman, the original Ravi Teja starrer had quite a few high adrenalin chase sequences forming a major part of the narrative. This gives the Hindi remake ample opportunities to get innovative where action would be the script’s requirement, and not forced.

To aid this, action director Philippe Guegan has been roped in who has been responsible for stunts in films like RUSH HOUR, THE TRANSPORTER, TAXI, HITMAN etc.
Whether he would indeed bring in a turnaround for Salman by shifting him from bone crunching action to the kind where he instead gets into ‘Dhoom Machale’ mode? We would know when the film releases all over this summer.
