She is yet to be seen in a full-fledged action role. However after demonstrating a couple of kicks and smashing heads with bottles, Sonakshi Sinha would now be seen entering a boxing ring. This would be for her next film HOLIDAY where she is playing this bindaas young college going girl. As a sports loving person, she also punches for fun. One such sequence is set in a ring where she puts on her boxing gloves.
She didn’t have to go through a whole lot of training though a la Priyanka Chopra who went through quite a grind in order to get it all perfectly right for MARY KOM.

Reason being that this is more of a fun affair so a little bit of practice before the scene was good enough. However, there would be a much livelier side of hers seen in the film and the sequence is a part of that.
A remake of THUPPAKKI, this Murugadoss directed film features Akshay Kumar as a soldier who returns to his hometown for a holiday, only to be sucked into a dramatic encounter.

“So he does all the action eventually,” laughs Sonakshi, “I do have my share of action as well, though it is minimal. It is fun to be playing this normal and regular college going girl who indulges into sports and boxing too.”
Since the promo of this Vipul Shah Production is still some time away, owing to the film’s release on 1st May, guess one would have to wait before seeing Sonakshi in action. Pun intended.
