He may be known as a fairly reticent actor. But when he landed on the Patiala sets of SON OF SARDAR this past Monday, Ajay Devgn had quite a surprise waiting for him. For, 2nd April 2012 happened to be Ajay’s birthday, and his loyal fan club had decided to present him a huge cake on the sets itself to celebrate the occasion!
Devgn started his birthday with a quiet private worship at Kali Mandir followed by a visit to the local Gurudwara in Patiala.

Ajay is generally averse to celebrating his birthday in public like this, but when his fan club went through the effort of arranging the huge three-layered cake and getting it onto the sets by getting in touch with one of Devgn’s close associates, the actor couldn’t help but go along with it.

The impromptu celebrations also proved to be quite a respite for the cast and crew of Devgn’s big budget action comedy, which is currently being shot in a marathon schedule in and around Patiala. The entire team of the film gathered around Ajay, his sis-in-law Tanisha and the film’s director Ashwini Dhir, to watch the cake being cut.
Well, now isn’t that a sweet surprise for Devgn and the SOS team!
