It seems Sonakshi Sinha is on the verge to break her ‘masala queen’ tag! After doing a spate of wholesome entertainers and the hero-centric films (like DABANGG series, ROWDY RATHORE, JOKER, SON OF SARDAR, R..RAJKUMAR, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI DOBAARA, ACTION JACKSON), looks like Sonakshi has shifted gears. Apparently, the Shotgun daughter is concentrating on doing women-oriented films.

Bollywood has largely remained a hero-centric industry for ages and now that the film industry is taking keen interest in films revolving around female protagonists, Sonakshi is also smitten by it!
She has as good as three women-centric films in hand. Recently, she signed A R Muugadoss’ film action drama AKIRA, then she is part of a biopic on eminent poet Amrita Pritam. Now, Sonakshi has been roped in to play an alleged ‘infamous’ gangster’s sister ‘Haseena Parkar’ in the upcoming biopic. The film titled HASEENA – THE QUEEN OF MUMBAI will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Mubina Rattonsey.

Haseena Parkar died in 2014 after having suffered a heart attack. She has an intriguing story that is now being made into a film. The film will roll out for shooting early next year that will live 40 years of Haseena’s life and is the emotional saga of a woman and what it meant to be the gangster’s sister.
Having said that, Sonakshi will be seen in the John Abraham starrer FORCE 2, to be directed by Abhinay Deo.
