Filmmaker Anurag Basu has been occupied over the past few months wrapping up the shooting of his eagerly anticipated anthology, ‘Metro… In Dino’. The film features Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Kay Kay Menon in pivotal roles.
According to the reports in Pinkvilla, Anurag Basu is gearing up to start work on his next feature film, an original romantic saga starring Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan, as the shoot for ‘Metro… In Dino’ will be wrapped up in two weeks.
Sources close to the development have stated that Anurag Basu will begin shooting his next film, which stars Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan, in August 2024. Bhushan Kumar will produce the movie under his production banner, T Series. The source shared, “There is a change in place. Basu is teaming up with Kartik and Triptii on an original romantic film and not Aashiqui 3. The prep work has already begun, and a team led by Bhushan Kumar is already working on curating a music album that suits the world of this romantic saga.”
The source further added that Kartik will be starring in this film as his follow-up to Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. The insider continued, “Kartik begins the Anurag Basu film next and will follow it up with Vishal Bhardwaj’s next, Arjan Ustara,” adding that after the yet-untitled love drama, Anurag has already lined up another feature film.
By 2025, Basu’s most ambitious biopic about the renowned artist Kishore Kumar will finally begin. The source concluded by saying that Kishore Kumar’s biopic is currently in the script stage and will go on floors by the end of 2025. “Once Basu wraps up the yet-untitled romantic saga with Kartik Aaryan and Tripti Dimri. It’s a story that Bhushan Kumar and Anurag Basu have been wanting to passionately share to the world and are closely working to lock the script. It will move into the casting stage soon,” the source said.
