Anurag Kashyap recently disclosed his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap’s reaction to Ranbir Kapoor’s film *Animal*, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and released last year. Aaliyah initially disliked the film and even disagreed with her father for praising it.
*Animal* stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film became a box office hit, with its numbers climbing steadily. Anurag Kashyap praised the film and its director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, sharing his admiration in a social media post alongside a picture with the director. However, Aaliyah had a different take and even criticized her father for his praise.
Anurag shared, “My daughter called me out. She hated *Animal*.” He added that Aaliyah went to see the film with her friends but returned disappointed, questioning him extensively about it. Anurag explained, “They all came home and asked me 10,000 questions. And I was like, tum baki sab toh chhod do, picture ka naam kya hai? *Animal*. It’s not called *Human*. Why did the film become difficult? Because everyone’s favorite Ranbir Kapoor played the role.”
Despite Aaliyah’s criticism, Anurag acknowledged Ranbir Kapoor’s strong performance. The film’s makers have announced a sequel, titled *Animal Park*, which is expected to be even bigger than the first installment.
