Arshad Warsi’s secretary turns producer with MR. JOE B. CARVALHO

Arshad Warsi’s secretary of over 10 years, Bhola is finally turning producer with MR. JOE B. CARVALHO. The first time producer made sure though that for his debut outing, he kept the costs under control while also bringing in certain quality and class to the final product. No wonder, Arshad – for whom this is next solo release after JOLLY LLB – is mighty hopeful that 2014 would kick-start with a bang, courtesy his secretary’s tireless ways of getting things in place well on schedule and budget.

‘The way Bhola has pulled off MR. JOE B. CARVALHO is amazing,’ says Arshad who has himself tried his stint with production few moons back with HUM TUM AUR GHOST, ‘The kind of deals that he picked up for the film, the level at which he is releasing it and even the overseas territories that he has explored is the workshop of someone who understands the business well. He has been working with me as a producer for over 10 years and has been a sharp guy. Now his transition to being a producer is excellent too. I am happy with the way MR. JOE B. CARVALHO has gone from conceptualization to now release.’

As someone who has been around for close to two decades in the industry, Arshad was more than glad to be stepping in for his producer, as and when required.

‘As an in-house actor, I had to make it count,’ says Arshad, ‘I can sound humble and all but then the fact is that with me in there, selling a film is not that difficult. What is of rudimentary importance though is to control the budget, something which has been the case with the film.’

In a lighter vein, he adds with a laugh, ‘It is not a big deal for Bhola to make a film but for me to do a film for him. But come on yaar, you have to do it for your secretary. He has worked with for so many years and it is my job to a film for him as well.’

Also starring Soha Ali Khan and Javed Jaffery, MR. JOE B. CARVALHO releases all over on 3rd January, 2014.
