Producer Ashok Pandey of SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA…, which is this Friday's topical and awaited release, must surely be one of the most educated personalities to be associated with cinema. He is a BITS Pilani alumni and also an MS in Software Engineering from US.
When we caught up with Ashok he had an interesting take on filmmaking, ''You know about my US based IT company, and so I know how to manage business. I look at filmmaking just like launching a successful product!''
When we asked Ashok as to why his two films, PHAS GAYE RE OBAMA and now SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA… are a light satirical take on topical issues, he elaborated, ''I don't want my films to be preachy, rather I believe that even serious issues can be dealt with in an entertaining way, so that they touch the sensibilities of the audience. I don't want my films to be nonsensical.''
The conviction that the producer of SAARE JAHAAN SE MEHNGA… shows will surely rub into the final product, and we are sure (and hope) that the film will touch the hearts and get a thumbs up from the audience.
