Ayushmann Khurrana: NAUTANKI SAALA was never meant for 100 crore club

After the huge success of his first film VICKY DONOR, all the hopes were pinned on Ayushmann Khurrana‘s second film NAUTANKI SAALA to do some wonders. In fact it was expected to surpass the record and glory of VICKY DONOR.

So when we asked Ayushmann, if he was expecting NAUTANKI to do some record-breaking business at the Box-office (read 100 crore), as is the norm in Bollywood these days and he said with a poise, ‘I think the film should be able to book profit that is of much more importance. There is no sense if every film attempts for 100 crore. NAUTANKI SAALA was never meant for 100 crore club.’

He adds further, ”My first film VICKY DONOR, which was made in 4 crore, did 40 crore business and yet it was immensely successful. If the costing of your film is 100 crores and it rakes in 100 crore at Box-office then your film is not generating any profits. Our film NAUTANKI SAALA was made on a budget of 10 crores and it has already made profits, which is really good.”
