LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA created a lot of sensation when it was released back in 2017, the film had faced a lot of oppositions for its content. An eye-opener for many, director Alankrita Shrivastava through her first film wiped out the stereotypical taboo issues faced by women. Starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur the film garnered a lot of appreciation from critics for its out of the sphere content. As per earlier reports, it was said that the director will be reuniting with producer Ekta Kapoor for a women-centric film.
Now as per a report in a leading daily, it is said that the makers have taken Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma on board to play the leading roles. Bhumi with a handful of movies has won the hearts with her stellar performance and versatile actress Konkona does not need a special introduction as she is known for her pivotal roles.
Considering the powerful roles both actresses are an apt choice for the film. As per the reports, Konkona was a natural choice as the character needs to be essayed powerfully and perfectly as she will be seen playing the lead, so while the discussion at production house Sen Sharma's name hit everyone's mind. As Alankrita's first outing was power-packed, this film may prove a hit yet again as the director has already shared the work time with Konkona. Well, we are already excited to see Bhumi and Konkona sharing screen space first time together.
