BOMAN IRANI
Theatre personality, photographer, successful Bollywood actor, Boman Irani has displayed it all. On Sunday, at St. Joseph’s School, Wadala, he unveiled another terrific, talented side… as a singer.

The occasion was the annual Parish fete and Boman was the guest of honour on the last day. He started with ‘Give Me Some Sunshine’ from 3 IDIOTS. Soon he had the entire crowd singing with him. He then went three octaves higher with a note-perfect rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘I Did it My Way’. Everyone watched in rapt attention as he sang the song penned by Paul Anka. A deafening applause followed his performance.

Like Santa Claus, he had the kids crowding him on stage and he left them with some wise words. To a question from a child who wanted to know what grades one must get, he said, “Grades are not important. It’s important that you pass and more important that you give it your best shot.”

Very different from the dad who pushed his son to suicide in 3 IDIOTS! But that’s reel life. In real life, Boman is quite a different person, one who never fails to surprise.
