Brad Pitt or Shah Rukh Khan? ‘King’ Teaser has Fans Divided Over SRK’s Latest Avatar!

Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' Teaser is a MASTERCLASS in Style - But Is It a Copycat?!

The first look of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated action drama King was revealed on November 2, on the occasion of the superstar’s 60th birthday. The teaser went viral in no time, as fans celebrated the return of the Badshah to the big screen with yet another stylish collaboration with director Siddharth Anand. However, the excitement soon gave way to a spirited online debate after many noticed an uncanny resemblance between Shah Rukh’s look in the teaser and Brad Pitt’s appearance in F1: The Movie.

In the teaser, Shah Rukh is seen wearing a mustard suede jacket over a light blue denim shirt, completed with a crossbody bag and aviator sunglasses. The overall outfit-casual with an effortless suave-is pretty much a dead ringer for what Brad Pitt wore in F1: The Movie. For fans, the similarities were impossible to ignore: side-by-side comparisons and reactions flooded social media. If some felt that the makers had borrowed a bit too from Pitt’s look, others saw this as a conscious creative decision.

Criticism poured in from some quarters as one user commented, “Copy paste hogaya yeh scene, Brad Pitt hakla aur mid Anand copy paste master hai #King.” “Sid copycat Anand being his usual self lol,” added another, while another said, “Didn’t expect SRK to replicate the exact same outfit-same duffels, same hairstyle! @iamsrk @justSidAnand #KING.” The accusations of imitation triggered a broader debate on Bollywood styling and how global influences are crossing into the imitation zone.

Of course, not everyone was critical. Many fans came to the look’s defense, theorizing it was an intentional homage rather than a case of copying. “I think this was intentional; a homage to Brad Pitt’s #F1 look,” one commented. Another post read, “Manifested SRK to look like Brad Pitt in F1 and the Universe didn’t even hesitate.” Others even celebrated the resemblance, saying it lent SRK an “international flair” fitting for King’s global action aesthetic.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand, King is among the most awaited Bollywood releases of 2025 and marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first on-screen collaboration with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The ensemble cast of the film also includes Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Saurabh Shukla, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma. Homage or coincidence, the teaser has definitely managed to create much noise ahead of King’s release.
