According to reports, a Mumbai court framed culpable homicide charges against actor Salman Khan in a decade-old hit-and-run case.

The 47-year-old actor was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail. It is believed that Salman Khan has pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge.

It can be recalled that earlier Salman Khan had been charged with a lesser offence of causing death by rash and negligent driving, which would amount a maximum punishment of only two years in jail. However, a magistrate’s court enhanced it to a more serious culpable homicide charge in June.
