The Delhi High Court today refused a plea to stay the release of Dibakar Banerjee’s SHANGHAI. According to the media reports, HC didn’t find anything insulting in the song ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ since it only depicted the ‘existing state of affairs’ within the country.

A petition was filed on Monday by a political party in the Delhi High Court for an interim stay on the release of Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol starrer until its so called controversial ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ song was deleted. The petitioner alleged that the song used insulting and outraging words that may hurt many people who are patriotic in nature.

However, the petition is dismissed now by the Delhi High Court.
SHANGHAI is a political thriller directed by Dibakar Banerjee and also stars Kalki Koechlin and Prosenjit Chatterjee in a vital role. The film is slated to release on 8th June, 2012
