In a significant development, Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, has been granted a weapons license by the authorities in Bareilly. The license comes in the wake of a shocking attack on the actress’s residence, where gunmen reportedly opened fire near the property. Jagdish Patani, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), had applied for the license after the incident to ensure personal security for his family.
According to officials, the attack occurred on September 12, when two assailants on motorcycles fired approximately ten bullets near Disha Patani’s house. The incident prompted immediate action from law enforcement agencies, and a case was registered against the suspects. The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), in coordination with Haryana STF and Delhi Police, reportedly neutralized the suspects in a Ghaziabad encounter just five days after the attack, underscoring the swift response of the authorities.
Following the incident, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible. Bareilly District Magistrate Avnish Singh confirmed that after Jagdish Patani’s application for a firearms license was processed, he was issued a license for a revolver. Senior Superintendent of Police in Bareilly, Anurag Arya, also stated that security arrangements around the Patani residence have been strengthened and will remain in place to ensure the family’s safety.
Despite the alarming attack, Disha Patani has continued to focus on her film commitments. She was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD, starring alongside Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, and also impressed audiences with her performance in Yodha. Looking ahead, she has several projects in the pipeline, including Welcome to the Jungle with Akshay Kumar, which is currently in post-production.

She is involved in Holiguards, directed by Kevin Spacey, though further details about the film are yet to be revealed. Additionally, she has another untitled Bollywood project in the works, which is expected to add to her growing repertoire of roles.
