Eetha Update: Shraddha Kapoor’s Injury Sparks Concerns Among Fans and Crew

From Screen to Sorrow: Shraddha Kapoor's Accidental Injury Halts Filming

Shraddha Kapoor has been making headlines ever since she began shooting for her upcoming biopic Eetha, based on the life of legendary Tamasha artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. However, production recently came to an unexpected halt after the actress fractured the toe of her left foot during the shoot last week.

According to a Midday report, the injury occurred while Shraddha was performing Lavani, the traditional Maharashtrian folk dance form closely associated with Narayangaonkar. A source revealed that the dance number, composed by Ajay–Atul, required Shraddha to execute a series of quick, rhythm-heavy steps in sync with the fast beats of the dholki. Dressed in a vibrant Nauvari saree, adorned with heavy jewellery and a kamarpatta, the actress had fully committed to the physically demanding routine. Shraddha had also gained over 15 kilos to authentically portray a young Vithabai. During one of the steps, she accidentally shifted her full weight onto her left foot, lost balance, and ended up fracturing her toe.

Although director Laxman Utekar immediately paused filming, Shraddha insisted on making the day productive by shooting close-up shots. After returning to Mumbai, the team resumed work at a Madh Island set, where she filmed a few emotional scenes. However, her pain intensified over the next couple of days, forcing the production to halt again. The unit now plans to regroup and resume shooting in about two weeks, once she has fully recovered.

Eetha is shaping up to be one of Shraddha’s most intense and performance-driven roles. The actress, last seen in Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), has been increasingly selective with her projects, opting for characters with depth and emotional range.
