If Emraan Hashmi is to be believed, he finds it not just amusing but also a lot burdening to come up with a put up act of being a big star. He is obviously referring to some of the superstars, both young and old, who bring on their star persona at all places and times. Still, one fact that cannot be denied is that after leaving aside the top six superstars (Khans, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan), there is little to differentiate between him, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan when it comes to steady popularity amongst the misses.

Doesn’t he find it rather flattering that today he has earned a placement in the industry where a film is being sold on his name?

“Of course it is flattering but then there is a sense of responsibility that comes along with that as well. I always wanted it that way where I am taken seriously and I further take the responsibility of a film over my shoulders. I never wanted to be an ‘also-ran’. This means that right from the time I started my career with FOOTPATH, I wanted to be in that position. Thankfully I am doing fine though I am sure that it would be a long journey from here if a steady run has to be maintained,” he says with his emotions in check.
Well, with films like SHANGHAI, DAAYAN, GHANCHAKKAR and a film each with Karan Johar and (most likely) Yash Raj Films in the pipeline, a steady run should be least of Emraan’s problems for next couple of years at the least.
