She said, “My role in the film is of a conservative Muslim girl. She is simply allowed to go to college and wants to be in band and strives hard, she actually lives two lives. I rehearsed a lot and would wear Burkha and Alankrita shopped with me to get a Burkha for the role.”

“It’s a very different role, I felt bad for my on-screen character, as I have been raised in a very liberal manner and what I thought in the film I can’t even imagine what the real Plabita is going through.” adds Plabita.

Furthermore she said, “Working with Konkana Sen Sharma and Ratna Mam at such an early stage of my career was dream come true. I can’t be thankful enough. I learned a lot from them.”

LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA is ruling at the box office currently. While Plabita is garnering appreciation for the film.
