BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG has crossed 100 crores at the box office and the film has managed a super strong four week run for itself. While congratulatory messages have been pouring in for all involved with the film, neither Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra nor his lead hero Farhan Akhtar are painting the town red about the film’s success.

Informs a source, “There were no champagnes being uncorked or success parties thrown around. In fact there was no Thumbs Up pose given by the makers either. All that Farhan did was send a simple text message to Rakeysh which read – ‘Milkha scores 100’. That was enough to make the director’s day who, with this film, has managed to strike back and earn the kind of industry standing that he had after RANG DE BASANTI.”
When contacted, Mehra smiled and said, “Well, I too just responded with a text to Farhan that said – ‘Not Out’. Bas hamaare liye yeh hi kaafi tha’.”

As for the film’s terrific run at the box office despite 25 odd other movies releasing over last three weeks gone by, Mehra says, “Well, during his lifetime Milkha too had beaten a lot of people in the race. Now our film is replicating the same too.”
On being asked about why there was no elaborate party thrown for the film’s success, he said, “That was my idea of celebration. I instead chose to stay home and spend time with my family. I was away from my daughter and son for so long. Even after the film’s shoot was over, I was holed up in a hotel for almost a year for the editing since I didn’t want to be distracted at home. This is a period of break that I am enjoying.”
