This is a rare week where a Hollywood venture, FAST & FURIOUS 7, dominated the box-office. In fact the film (which released on Thursday) is on a record breaking run netting nearly 12 crore (including dubbed versions), shattering the records of all earlier Hollywood ventures, including SPIDERMAN 2.

Starring Vin Diesel (along with our very own Ali Fazal) FAST & FURIOUS 7 is expected to continue its record breaking run as the four-day extended weekend appears to be huge.

Meanwhile, the Dibakar Banerjee directed Sushant Singh Rajput starrer, DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY!, managed to hold its own (more so at the multiplexes), despite a stiff resistance from FAST & FURIOUS 7. As per the initial reports the Friday release has managed a 40 percent opening day occupancy at the city multiplexes and is expected to end up with a decent weekend haul. The first day, as per early estimates looks to be in the 5 crore plus range.
