The speculations about trouble in the marriage between Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been making rounds since months on social media, hinting at a split, plus a possible third person in the picture. Weeks of speculations have finally made Sunita react to the rumors, which she has made clear she won’t believe unless she sees for herself.
The couple, who married in 1987, has been considered for some time now as one of Bollywood’s most enduring love stories. Recent gossip, however, of Govinda’s alleged extramarital relationship with a 30-year-old Marathi actress has kept them in the headlines. Appearing on the Abraa Kaa Dabra Show podcast with Paras S Chhabra, Sunita opened up about the ongoing buzz, her perspective on independence, and life with Govinda today.
Speaking candidly, Sunita shared how she has carved out her own space as a content creator. “It’s going really well. I got the YouTube silver button within four months of vlogging,” she said proudly. Emphasising financial independence for women, she added, “A woman should stand up on her own. It gives another level of happiness to earn your own money. Your husband gives money, but only after asking many times. Your own earning is your own.”
With characteristic humour, Sunita also teased her husband, saying she wants a bigger home. She revealed that she currently lives with their children, Tina and Yashvardhan, in a four-bedroom house, while Govinda stays elsewhere. “This house is small for us. I want to say through this podcast, ‘Chichi, buy me a big five-bedroom hall house, otherwise see what happens to you,’” she laughed.
When asked about Govinda’s alleged affair, Sunita remained composed. “I have heard the rumours too. But till the moment I don’t see him with my own eyes or catch him red-handed, I can’t declare anything. I have heard it’s a Marathi actress,” she said, adding that at this stage in life, Govinda should focus on family and their children’s futures.
Sunita also confirmed that her strained relationship with nephew Krushna Abhishek is now resolved. “I have no fight with any kid now. Krishna was brought up by me. I just want everyone to be happy,” she said warmly. Despite the constant rumors, Sunita’s calm yet candid attitude speaks volumes of her commitment to family and truth, reinforcing why she and Govinda remain one of Bollywood’s most talked-about couples.
