Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan on Friday paid his last respects to his former mother-in-law, Zarine Katrak, who died on Thursday night at 81 years of age. The actor, accompanied by his girlfriend Saba Azad, was clicked as he arrived at Sanjay Khan’s Mumbai residence to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Hrithik was married to Zarine’s daughter Sussanne Khan from 2000 to 2014. The separated couple, parents of two sons named Hrehaan and Hridaan, remain great friends. They are often spotted in family gatherings and outings together with their respective partners. Sussanne is currently dating Arslan Goni while Hrithik has been dating Saba Azad for the last few years.
Zarine Katrak, wife of veteran actor-director Sanjay Khan, died at her home in Mumbai on Friday morning after a long illness related to old age. She is survived by her husband and four children — Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan.
Before marriage, Zarine was an internationally known model, actress, and interior designer who had acquired fame in the 1960s and 1970s. Elegant and gracious, she was one of the early trendsetters who gave a face to India’s nascent fashion and advertising industry. She also appeared in Hindi cinema, notably starring alongside Dev Anand in Tere Ghar Ke Samne, 1963.
Zarine met Sanjay Khan sometime in the late 1960s, and both eventually got hitched to become one of Bollywood’s most glamorous couples. Despite her husband being a famous personality, Zarine mostly kept herself away from the limelight and devoted her life to her family and creative interests.
