The producers of Kalki 2898 AD, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies, have shared exciting updates about the sequel to the highly successful sci-fi film. According to their statements at the Moscow International Film Week, the shooting for the sequel is slated to begin in early 2025, likely in January or February. Priyanka Dutt mentioned that once filming begins, more details about the project will be shared.
Swapna Dutt expressed that the team is approaching the sequel with a sense of excitement rather than nervousness. She highlighted the lessons learned from the first part, particularly how Nag Ashwin’s vision, which was initially challenging to fully grasp, became clearer once the visuals were realized. The positive reception of the first film has fueled the team with renewed energy and confidence as they move forward with the sequel.
*Kalki 2898 AD*, directed by Nag Ashwin, features an all-star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan. The film also includes performances by Disha Patani, Brahmanandam, Shobana, Anil George, and Saswata Chatterjee. Set in the post-apocalyptic city of Kasi in the year 2898 AD, the film follows a group of individuals on a mission to save Kalki, the unborn child of a lab subject.
