Both were big stars of the nineties (and early 2000), with loads of successful films in their kitty, and yet they left Bollywood on their own accord, at the peak of their career, and furthermore, their much hyped comeback vehicles let them down and left their fans disappointed.

KARISMA KAPOOR and MADHURI DIXIT |
Well, you guessed it right. We are indeed talking about top star Karisma Kapoor and superstarni Madhuri Dixit. The reigning Bollywood queens of the nineties, Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor, may not have starred in many films together, except for may be a DIL TO PAGAL HAI, but their career graph tells a similar story.
However, both of them got married and left Bollywood at a time when they were at the top, and sadly and unfortunately their comeback ventures, Madhuri Dixit’s AAJA NACHLE, and now Karisma’s comeback venture DANGEROUS ISHHQ, failed at the ticket window (netting just 4 crores during the opening weekend). In fact Karisma’s DANGEROUS ISHHQ may not even get close to the 11 crore netted by Madhuri’s AAJA NACHLE (during the opening week itself), in 2007!
CHECK OUT: Karisma fails to charm in DANGEROUS ISHHQ
The audience just failed to show the same level of excitement as they had done to the two starlets’ previous hit films. And like Madhuri, Karisma too has now ventured into television and is making her presence felt in reality dance shows.
However, neither Karisma nor Madhuri should be blamed for the debacle of their respective comeback films because neither of the two movies were worthy of the stature of a Madhuri or a Karisma Kapoor. Even though both the films were heroine oriented, yet they were just plain average films; nothing exciting for the audience. And we are sure that they will certainly come up trumps with their next films.
For the fans of Madhuri, the wait is certainly over with Anubhav Sinha’s GULAB GANG, and here is hoping the same for Karisma also.
