Kashmera Shah recently spoke about the early struggles in her career and shared a personal story from the time she worked on the film Yes Boss. She talked about this during a conversation on Bharti TV, hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa.
Kashmera said that in the film she played a rich and glamorous woman opposite Aditya Pancholi. The movie also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. While her role showed a wealthy lifestyle on screen, her real life situation at that time was very different. “I had to play a rich woman in the film, but I didn’t even have a car at that time, I didn’t have rich friends. But I wanted that role so much.”
She shared that she used to travel to the film set by auto rickshaw but tried to keep it hidden from others. “I used to arrive on set at 7 am instead of the call time of 9 am because I didn’t want anyone to see me coming in an auto.” She explained that many of her co actors arrived in luxury cars. “Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Aditya Pancholi everyone arrived in their own big cars.”
Talking about her financial condition, Kashmera said she had not even told her mother about working in the film. “I had not told my mother that I am doing Yes Boss. I took her to watch the film. Nobody used to recognise me without make up, and I did not have money either at that time.” She also revealed that she was paid Rs 30,000 for the role. “I was paid Rs 30,000 for that. I had no car at that time because I was a struggler.”
She added that the role was first offered to Nikki Aneja, who could not take it up. Later, Kashmera got the opportunity.
Over the years, Kashmera Shah has worked in films like Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Hera Pheri and Jungle. She also appeared in reality shows such as Nach Baliye 3, Bigg Boss 1 and Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi 4. She is currently seen on Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment.
