There’s exciting news for fans of the beloved comedy Khosla Ka Ghosla! The cult classic, which starred Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, and Parvin Dabas, is set to return this time with a prequel. Known for its slow-burn success and National Award win for Best Feature Film in Hindi, the film continues to be celebrated as one of India’s finest comedies.
Prequel Confirmed, Huma Qureshi On Board
According to a Pinkvilla report, the script for Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 has been finalized, and the film is currently in the casting phase. Director Umesh Bisht is set to helm the project, with filming expected to begin in November 2025, aiming for a 2026 release. A source quoted in the report said, “The film is an outright comic entertainer like the original. The script is locked, and casting is underway.”
The report further reveals that actress Huma Qureshi has already joined the cast in a lead role. “Huma loved the script and has come on board as one of the main characters,” the source added. The film is expected to be produced by T-Series, with other production details currently being finalized. Anupam Kher and Boman Irani are also reportedly involved in the new film, though an official announcement is awaited.

Meanwhile, Huma Qureshi continues to make waves with her choice of roles. Her upcoming film Bayaan, directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, has been selected for the Discovery Section at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. The gripping police thriller explores systemic oppression and religious undertones, with Qureshi playing a complex, powerful lead. The film also stars Chandrachur Singh and Sachin Khedekar.
