The newest song from STUDENT OF THE YEAR, 'Radha', has released and one can see that Alia Bhatt had brought to fore a new persona of hers, especially after scorching the screen with 'Disco Deewane'.
However, it wasn't a cakewalk for the 'now petite' girl since she was on a heavier side to begin with, something which didn't quite go with Karan Johar's vision of his female protagonist in the film. Since she couldn't have stepped into the film with her then-shape, Alia was promptly sent to a dietician.
"Yes, the only that I had to ask her was to lose weight. Since she had a few extra kilos on her, the need of the hour was to assign a dietician as well as trainer who could help her maintain a regime. To her credit, she worked for full three months and came back all slim and ready to face the camera", recollects Karan.
Now that the film is ready for release, Karan fondly looks back at all the months spent with his team of youngsters, including Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.
"I am happy to say this on record that each of my three protagonists has given his/her best account. Yes, as a production house we provided them the right infrastructure so that they are trained for the job.
However, beyond that, it is one's individual hard work that speaks the loudest. No one else can take any credit for their work. I am sure it must have been an exhausting film for them since there are so many sports sequences as well. The boys especially had to train for months for swimming, cycling, running. It was nothing less than a marathon for them but then they are here for a long inning", declares Karan.
With Rishi Kapoor in the role of a dean, STUDENT OF THE YEAR has music by Vishal-Shekhar and releases all over on 19th October.
