The major release of the week, Kunal Deshmukh’s Emraan Hashmi starrer, RAJA NATWARLAL, could not emulate the team’s previous successes, quite on expected lines. RAJA NATWARLAL fared best in Mumbai-Maharashtra and Gujarat, due to the Ganesh Chaturthi holiday. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about its performance in the remaining parts of India, though the single screens did show a marked improvement during the latter shows.

Meanwhile, Yash Raj Films’ Rani Mukerji starrer MARDAANI (which started on a dull note), improved over the weekend and maintained surprisingly well during the weekdays. The film ended the opening week netting a creditable 25 crore (to be validated). The tax–free status granted by many states is sure to ensure a successful outing for the Pradeep Sarkar directed MARDAANI.
Concluding with Rohit Shetty’s Ajay Devgn starrer, super hit SINGHAM RETURNS, the film crashed in the second week, after a bumper opening week of 112 crore. Adding another 23 crore, SINGHAM RETURNS has netted 135 crore in two weeks from India and is team Rohit- Ajay’s biggest hit and grosser by a long shot.
