Event: NCPA presents ‘Odissi on High’ featuring Ramli Ibrahim

In its 50th year, NCPA presents “Odissi on High” on Thursday, 9th May,2019 at Experimental Theatre. Featuring dazzling performance of dancers of Sutra (Kuala Lumpur) and Rudrakshya (Bhubaneswar), the production explores the evolution of ‘Pallavi’ (a genre in odissi repertoire) representing the styles of the two pioneer odissi gurus , the late Kelucharan Mahapatra and Debaprasad Das. Their approaches have been developed and enhanced by their respective star disciples, Guru Bichitrananda and Guru DurgaCharanRanbir, respectively. Ramli Ibrahim is the conceiver of this production, co-artistically directing it with Guru Bichitrananda Swain of Rudrakshya.
