Priyanka Chopra once again proved why she is considered a global fashion icon as she made a breathtaking appearance at the grand GlobeTrotter event held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The evening was special not just for its star-studded presence but also for the reveal of SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited film Varanasi, including Mahesh Babu’s first look as Rudhra. Priyanka, who plays Mandakini in the film, turned heads in a dazzling traditional look that quickly became the talk of the town.
On Sunday, Priyanka shared a series of stunning images on Instagram showcasing her outfit for the event. The actress looked ethereal in an ivory lehenga-style saree designed by Anamika Khanna. The intricate draping, combined with the rich texture of the ensemble, highlighted Priyanka’s regal presence. Elevating the look further was her exquisite jewellery—a multi-layered kundan and pearl choker necklace, traditional gold bangles, a delicate maang tika, and a beautifully crafted pearl-adorned kamarbandh that added an extra touch of elegance.
Captioning the photos, Priyanka wrote, “Channeling my inner Devi. #Mandakini #Varanasi.” Her husband, singer Nick Jonas, couldn’t hold back his admiration and left a comment that won the internet: “I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say… Oh my god.” Fans flooded the comments with heart emojis and applause for the actress’ divine look.
The GlobeTrotter event also unveiled the teaser of Varanasi, offering audiences their first glimpse of Mahesh Babu in a fierce and powerful avatar as Rudhra. A few days earlier, the makers had introduced fans to Priyanka’s character Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s character Kumbha through striking first-look posters.
Varanasi marks SS Rajamouli’s return to direction following the monumental global success of RRR. It also marks Priyanka’s comeback to Indian cinema after her 2019 film The Sky Is Pink. The highly anticipated film is slated for a Sankranti 2027 release and has already begun generating massive buzz.
Meanwhile, Priyanka continues to maintain a vibrant international career. She is gearing up for Citadel 2, the sequel to the global spy thriller backed by the Russo Brothers. She will also star in Frank E. Flowers’ upcoming adventure drama The Bluff, featuring Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Temuera Morrison. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
