Palaash Muchhal Erases Memories: Proposal Video and World Cup Clip with Smriti Mandhana Gone

Palaash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana call off their wedding; both request privacy as Palaash deletes videos and addresses unverified rumours with a heartfelt statement.

A day after music composer Palash Muchhal publicly confirmed that his wedding to Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana had been called off, he removed several previously shared videos featuring the two of them from his social media accounts. Among the deleted posts was the widely circulated, romantic clip of Palash proposing to Smriti at a cricket stadium—an intimate moment that had gone viral shortly after the Indian women’s cricket team clinched the World Cup in Mumbai last month. The proposal took place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the venue of the tournament’s final match, and quickly captured the attention of fans and media alike.

The couple had been scheduled to marry on November 24 in Sangli, Smriti’s hometown, with pre-wedding celebrations already underway. However, on the morning of the ceremony, Smriti’s manager informed the media that the wedding had been postponed indefinitely due to her father’s sudden illness. Soon after the announcement, Palash and his family returned to Mumbai, where the composer was reportedly hospitalised due to stress.

In the midst of the cancellation, social media began circulating unverified rumours alleging misconduct by Palash during the festivities. Speculation intensified after whispers of him being involved with a choreographer surfaced, though both choreographers present at the wedding denied any connection to the rumours.

On Sunday, Smriti addressed the situation directly through an Instagram Story, requesting privacy for both families as she confirmed that the wedding had officially been called off. Around the same time, Palash released his own statement on Instagram, acknowledging the end of their relationship. “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship,” he wrote.

Palash also spoke about the emotional toll of the controversy, condemning the spread of baseless allegations. “It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me,” he wrote. Calling it the most challenging phase of his life, he added that he intended to navigate it with dignity. His message urged people to think carefully before spreading unverified gossip, reminding them of the deep emotional harm such speculation can cause.

As both families take time to heal and move forward, they have requested sensitivity and respect during a deeply personal moment.
