Renowned Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, celebrated for his stellar acting and devotion to his family, has always expressed deep affection for his wife Gauri and children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam. Recently, paparazzo Varinder Chawla shed light on why King Khan has been avoiding the media and photographers.
Chawla revealed that Shah Rukh Khan’s decision to evade being photographed by the media stems from his anger towards them following his son Aryan Khan’s arrest in 2021. In an interview with Hindi Rush, Chawla recounted an incident where he received a call from Shah Rukh Khan himself.
When “Pathaan” was released in 2023, Chawla’s team spotted the actor but chose not to use the footage, feeling it was intrusive. Sensing Khan’s displeasure, Chawla contacted the actor’s PR team, informed them about the video, and assured them it would not be used, apologizing for any intrusion on their privacy.
Shortly after this, Chawla received a call from SRK’s manager, who thanked him and mentioned that King Khan wanted to speak with him. Describing the experience as surreal, Chawla reflected on how he went from chasing Shah Rukh’s car for a glimpse to receiving a personal call from him.
“We spoke for over five minutes,” Chawla shared. “After speaking to him, I realized his deep love for his children, especially his son Aryan Khan. As a father myself, I understood his pain. If people said ill and negative things about my children, I would be devastated too. He was very sad and upset back then, but we didn’t consider that. We just complained that SRK doesn’t give us photos and always hides his face. He is mad at the media for what they did to his son.”
Aryan Khan was detained in connection with a drug bust on the Cordelia cruise ship on October 2, 2021, and remained in custody for 22 days. Subsequently, the NCB issued a chargesheet in the cruise drug case against 14 individuals but cleared Aryan Khan of any involvement.
