Ram Charan’s much-awaited sports action film Peddi, which was set to hit theatres on April 30, has reportedly been postponed to an unknown date. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who made a successful Tollywood debut with the 2021 hit Uppena, Peddi stars Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Boman Irani, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma. The movie was expected to create a big buzz with its mix of sports, drama, and action set against a rural backdrop, but fans may now have to wait a little longer.
According to 123Telugu, some crucial portions of the film are yet to be shot, making it difficult for the makers to release Peddi on April 30. If this delay is confirmed, it will be the third time the film’s release has been postponed. The first shift was from March 27, 2026, to April 30, and now it could be delayed further. Recently, Ram Charan suffered a minor injury during an action sequence. He reportedly received four stitches above his eye but confirmed that his eye is completely fine. A source told Hindustan Times that Ram is back at work and the injury will not affect the film’s progress.
Peddi revolves around a cricket tournament in a rural setting, combining the thrill of sports with intense action and emotional drama. The film features a strong ensemble cast with Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani, adding depth to the story. The movie is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and Ishan Saksena under the banners of Vriddhi Cinemas and IVY Entertainment. Music and background score are composed by A. R. Rahman, promising a rich audio experience for fans.
On Ram Charan’s birthday, the makers released a teaser glimpse showing him in a rugged, muscular avatar, drawing comparisons to a wrestler and creating excitement among audiences. Ram Charan was last seen in the film Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar, which focused on an IAS officer fighting corruption. While Game Changer received a lukewarm response, it is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Looking ahead, Ram Charan is expected to reunite with director Sukumar for a project tentatively titled RC17. Fans of the actor continue to eagerly await Peddi, hoping the film delivers a perfect blend of sports action, emotion, and star power when it finally releases. The delay may be disappointing, but it also ensures that the movie will be ready in its best possible form.
