The trailer of the biographical drama “Phule” about Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and his wife Savitribai Phule has created enough excitement. Based on the movie “Samaritan” in Hindi, with a new plotline, and starring Pratik Gandhi as Phule and Patralekhaa as Phule’s wife, the movie is directed by Ananth Mahadevan. Released on April 11, 2025, which just so happens to be Jyotirao Phule’s birthday, the movie brings forward the contributions that the couple made to social reformation in the 19th century in Maharashtra.
