Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra has been discharged from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after a week-long stay prompted by breathing-related health concerns. The 90-year-old screen legend was admitted on November 8 after experiencing difficulty in breathing, which was later diagnosed as chest congestion caused by a viral infection affecting his lungs. Despite initial worries among fans, doctors clarified that Chopra was never in a critical condition. However, due to his advanced age and a pre-existing heart ailment, the medical team closely monitored him throughout his stay.
Media reports indicated that the actor responded well to treatment and gradually regained strength under the care of the hospital’s respiratory and cardiac specialists. His family confirmed that he had shown steady improvement and was eventually allowed to return home. A few days earlier, actor Sharman Joshi, who is married to Prem Chopra’s daughter Prerana Chopra, reassured the public about his father-in-law’s condition. When asked about the veteran actor’s health, Sharman responded, “All good thank you, just some tests, back tomorrow,” helping alleviate concerns among admirers and industry colleagues.
