They play a dumb, deaf and autistic character in their upcoming film BARFI!, however actors Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra say that the film is not about disability. Though the film revolves around the disable characters, the actors assure us that we will not feel that this film is about disability.

Says Ranbir, ”You will not feel anywhere in the film whatever disabilities that we have – Me and Priyanka. We are very normal characters. You’ll not feel that this film is about disability because this film is about enjoying life, giving and seeing happiness and about feeling the love. It’s a love story and that what really matters.”
”If you see Ileana’s character you will see eternal romance, if you see the love story between Priyanka and my character…its heartwarming. You will not feel that the film is about disability or mentally challenged kind of…,” he further adds.

Ask what Priyanka has to say about the film, ”When we meet differently-abled people, or people who are special, we have a view point that they have a dark, sorrowful life we feel bad for them, it is not a film about that. There are people who smile, laugh, fall in love, enjoy…It’s that side of their life. So it is not about disability.”
”I don’t think after a point of time you will remember that these two characters have disabilities. The world created between these three characters (Ranbir, Priyanka and Illena) is just something we haven’t seen before. Ranbir’s character is adorable and sweet in the film. He is somebody who will keep laughing and makes you happy,” further said PC.
Directed by Anurag Basu, the film also stars Tollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz and is set to release on September 14, 2012
