Veteran star Rajesh Khanna wishes to remake legendary director Shakti Samanta’s classic cult ARADHANA.
ARADHANA was Khanna’s third film and his biggest hit and when Ashim, son of Shakti Samanta went to meet Rajesh Khanna, the veteran actor suggested that ARADHANA should be remade.

While most actors are against their films being remade, Rajesh Khanna strongly feels that ARADHANA should be remade with a fresh pair. He strongly believes that the songs alone are enough to attract the audiences.
Says Ashim, ”Yes Kaka asked me to remake ARADHANA with a new boy and girl. He even said that he would help me with the screenplay and music. We were planning to start the work on the film last November when he was well. As soon as he recovers, we will begin the projects.”

Ashim was planning his son Aditya’s acting debut and thought about casting him in the remake of ARADHANA.
”But I realised that people will compare him to Rajesh Khanna. So I am launching him with YEH JO MOHABBAT HAI and making ARADHANA later (with Aditya in the lead),” he added further.
Ashim has also spoken to Rajesh Khanna about another script where in which he wants him to do a cameo himself.
