Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone Bid Farewell to Bollywood Legend Dharmendra

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone Lead the Tribute to Dharmendra

Among the several Bollywood celebrities, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone entered Mumbai’s Pawan Hans Crematorium together to pay their last homage to veteran actor Dharmendra, who died at the age of 89.

On Monday afternoon, the power couple pulled up in the same car, clad in pristine white, and entered the crematorium grounds, quietly and sans interaction with the media. Their solemn presence resonated with the heavy grief sweeping the film fraternity into its fold as friends, family, and fans converged in unison to mourn the loss of the Bollywood legend.

Dharmendra-considered as the “He-Man” of Indian cinema-breathed his last on November 24 after a short illness. His last rites were performed amidst family members and some of the biggest names in the industry. The mourners included Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Abhishek Bachchan.

The arrival of Deepika and Ranveer carried special resonance since Dharmendra had shared the screen with them in Karan Johar’s 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, in which he played Ranveer’s on-screen grandfather. Their visit underlined not just respect for a colleague but a deeply felt personal tribute.

The mood remained hushed and respectful throughout the crematorium. Security was tight, and the atmosphere deeply emotional, as the industry bid a final farewell to a towering figure, whose six-decade-long career left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.

With Bollywood bidding adieu to Dharmendra, the presence of Ranveer and Deepika for his last rites stands as a poignant reminder of the intergenerational bonds that defined his legacy-one of warmth, mentorship, and cinematic greatness.
