During the recently concluded Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Katrina Kaif, accompanied by Raveena Tandon, took part in a holy dip at the VIP section of the Triveni Sangam. However, what was meant to be a peaceful and sacred moment for the actresses soon turned into a disturbing spectacle as videos of Katrina’s ritual began circulating on social media.
In the viral footage, crowds can be seen surrounding the actress as some individuals attempt to get selfies or provoke reactions from her during the ceremony. The situation escalated when another video emerged showing two men filming Katrina while she was in prayer. The men jokingly introduced themselves in the video, casually panning the camera toward Kaif as they made light of the situation. One even joked, “Ye main hu, ye mera bhai hai, aur ye Katrina Kaif” (this is me, this is my brother, and this is Katrina Kaif), while others laughed.

Public Outcry Over Invasive Behavior
The videos quickly went viral, sparking outrage among netizens. Many criticized the men for their lack of respect and invasion of the actress’s privacy during a sacred moment. Raveena Tandon, who was present at the Mela, voiced her disappointment on social media, calling the behavior “disgusting” and condemning the disrespect shown towards the actress. “These kinds of people ruin a moment that is supposed to be peaceful and meaningful,” Tandon remarked.
Celebrity Presence at the Mela
The Mahakumbh Mela, held from January 13 to February 26, saw a number of celebrities joining the spiritual gathering, including Vicky Kaushal, Sonali Bendre, Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, and Guru Randhawa. Despite the serene nature of the event, the growing crowds and the attention given to celebrities led to uncomfortable moments like the one involving Katrina Kaif.
The incident has sparked a larger conversation about privacy and respect for public figures during personal, spiritual rituals.
