In an exclusive interview, National Award Winner – SAIRAT fame Rinku Rajguru talks about her upcoming film KAAGAR and beyond.
Rinku’s character ‘Rani’ form KAAGAR looks like a layered character with multiple emotional shades, which makes it bit different than the ‘Archi’ form SAIRAT. Marathi Cinephiles like the movie and film is doing good in Marathi Movie Circuits. Rajguru plays a lead role of a politician in KAAGAR. Excerpts:
Tell us more about the kind of reactions you are getting about KAAGAR trailer?
Firstly, I wasn’t sure how people will react to the trailer of KAAGAR as I am coming back after 3 long years. I was also worrying, whether or not audience will accept me. But I am glad that people loved the teaser and the trailer alike. Also, I am happy to see warm response that we are getting form audience, which means a lot to the team and me. Also people are complimenting me on my new look as well.
How was the experience working with Shubhankar Tawde?
Shubhankar comes from theatre background, so it was really fun and learning experience working with him, we have become great friends now. Specially, while recording the songs – we enjoyed a lot. Can’t wait for you guys to watch us together and tell us your experience of watching us together.
Have you ever compared your characters ‘Rani’ and ‘Archi’?
To be honest, both characters are special to me and I am what I am today, because of ‘Archi’. I am happy to see that people are giving me same love now also. In fact their love for me has increased over period of time that’s what I feel. I hope audience will like ‘Rani’ in film as well. (Smiles)
You must be getting many scripts and offers for films, what made you choose KAAGAR?
After SAIRAT, it was a tough decision for me to choose next film, I wanted to do a film with good subject but I was getting film offers that were very much on the lines of my first character ‘Archi’ from SAIRAT. So, KAAGAR is different from the most scripts I was reading then, it’s a love story that revolves around politics and social issues. I hope people will give some love to ‘Rani’ as they did to ‘Archi’.
How was it working with Mankrand Mane?
He is a very creative person and his direction skills are extraordinary, plus we share a special bond as we are from the same village. Each day was a learning day for me while working with him and his vision for what he wants to get done is very detailed.
What kind of films you would like to do future? Any other film / story / script that you have shortlisted?
I am open to do films that are youth oriented and that has meaningful as well as entertaining subject. Audience will get to know in a few months about my next project.
