So we were having a joint interview of Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat for BANGISTAN when Riteish Deshmukh, perhaps being the senior actor, decided to answer a question on Pulkit’s behalf.
This is how the conversation went:
Interviewer: Many people compare you to Salman Khan. How do you take that?
Pulkit: I don’t take it.
Interviewer: Okay. You don’t agree?
Pulkit: I don’t know. I think Salman bhai will be the right person to answer this. Why don’t you ask him?
Interviewer: You don’t like comparisons with him?
(At this point Riteish decided to answer)
Riteish: It’s such an unfair question to actor. Salman is a huge star. You ask an actor if you look like him. Even if the actor doesn’t agree, it becomes a trend. Many people start asking the same question. I think every actor in the end wants to be himself.
At the same time if he says ‘I don’t want to be compared to him’, it sounds arrogant. Even if he says he wants to be compared to him, it still sounds arrogant. So it’s a very catch 22 situation for an actor. He can’t answer this, so I’ll answer this for him.
Well Riteish, we beg to differ and feel Pulkit is old and mature enough to answer on his behalf.
