Riteish’s EK VILLIAN character was loved & much appreciated by not only the fans but also the critics. His wife Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh was the one who wanted him to play a different character. When asked Riteish if he would want to play a similar character again, he said, “Yes, absolutely. I remember, Genelia and I were watching TV and she said ‘I think you should play a dark character, it will really suit you. I don’t know why she said that. Soon after that I was offered EK VILLIAN. I went home and told Genelia that you asked for it and I’ve been offered a negative role. She asked me what the role was and i told her that there is a man who loves his wife but he wants to kill her. His entire dilemma is should i love her or kill her. She told me I would play the role perfect. I don’t know why she said that.”

He further added, “Genelia really tries to push me in every way to better myself as a performer and an actor. I’d love to do something drastically different if I get a chance. If you get a role to something different, I think every actor would love to do it. I did BANGISTAN for because in humor, there is something different for me to do this time.”
