Riteish Deshmukh isn’t entirely discounting critics

Though it has become rather fashionable for most celebrities to bash critics and declare that they don't quite matter in the scheme of things, Riteish Deshmukh doesn't exactly bear the same thought process.

In fact he goes on to acknowledge the fact that there are some films that have worked tremendously, courtesy of good reviews coming their way.

"Take for example KAHAANI. It was reviewed and appreciated by one and all. Same holds good for VICKY DONOR which grew strength by strength due to universal appreciation.

These are some of the films that have been helped by great reviews," he reasons. "However there are also films that have been given one or two stars but have still worked, a case in point being my own HOUSEFULL 2, which ended up earning 115 crores just in India. So ultimately there are lots of permutations and combinations that can sometimes go in your favour and at times not."

However when KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM was conceptualised, it was a given that the film won't be made depending upon these permutations and combinations coming into play but would solely have the masses in mind.

"Exactly! The film is soaked in naughtiness. In fact there are some dialogues, which are pretty straightforward but if you try to decipher them for a little longer a double meaning emerges.

Par isme hamaari kya galti hai? Humne toh seedhi baat kahi hai! Gandagi toh aapke dimaag mein bhari hai," he chuckles.

He might have a point there.
