Shah Rukh Khan confirms he’ll meet Lionel Messi in Kolkata on December 13, sparking massive fan excitement ahead of their historic crossover moment.

Shah Rukh Khan has sent fans into a frenzy by confirming that he will be meeting football icon Lionel Messi during the latter’s much-anticipated visit to Kolkata. On Thursday, the Bollywood megastar took to his X account and revealed that he will be present at the Salt Lake Stadium on December 13, where Messi is scheduled to appear as part of the GOAT India Tour.

In his trademark witty style, SRK wrote, “This time round not planning my Knight in Kolkata… and hoping the day ride is completely ‘Messi’. See you guys on the 13th at the Salt Lake Stadium.” The post instantly exploded across social media, with fans expressing overwhelming excitement at the prospect of two global superstars from completely different worlds sharing the same stage.

Reactions poured in within minutes. “Sir, you just show up… Bengal’s crowd will take care of making the day truly ‘Messi’!” wrote one fan. Another commented, “Meet up of both biggest megastars of their respective fields,” while a third added, “Salt Lake Stadium is about to witness magic!”

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next big film, King, in which he will star alongside his daughter Suhana Khan, marking one of Bollywood’s most awaited on-screen collaborations. The ensemble cast includes Raghav Juyal, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Akshay Oberoi, Jackie Shroff, Karanvir Malhotra, and Abhay Verma.

Although the storyline remains under wraps, SRK previously shared insights during the Locarno Film Festival, describing King as an “action drama” that is “emotionally correct” and has been a dream project he wanted to pursue for nearly a decade. He explained that the team felt filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh was the right fit to bring the project to life with the required emotional depth.

Later, during an event in Abu Dhabi, SRK added more intrigue: “I will be shooting it for a couple of months. My director, Siddharth Anand, is very strict… I can’t tell you what we are doing, but I can assure you that it will be entertaining.” With Anand previously delivering hits like Pathaan, expectations are sky-high.

As fans gear up for the SRK–Messi moment in Kolkata and await more details about King, it’s clear that Shah Rukh Khan is about to rule both the silver screen and the stadium once again
