Ram Lakhan’s iconic duo Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor are ready to join hands once again on screen after decades this time, for King, Shah Rukh Khan’s next high-octane action thriller. King is directed by Siddharth Anand and is creating serious buzz before starting filming in Mumbai between May 18 to May 20.
While the role of Jackie Shroff remains a secret, it is confirmed that Anil Kapoor will feature as an important character SRK’s mentor and handler. Shah Rukh Khan plays a skilled assassin walking a complex world of espionage and authority, and Anil’s role will lead him through the assignment with intensity and gravitas. “There were a number of actors in consideration, but Anil Kapoor was the unanimous pick.”. His being there brings the appropriate emotional and cinematic heft,” explained an insider on the production.

King also features Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma, and becomes one of the most awaited cast-based films of recent years. The film is crafted for the new generation movie-goers of today, vowing to release an unseen raw and emotional version of Shah Rukh Khan. With real-time action combining realism and styling, the movie will become one to look forward to in establishing a new wave for Indian movies.

Foreign action directors have been recruited to design adrenaline-fueled scenes, and the movie will be shot on various worldwide locations within a period of 100 days. Once the Mumbai schedule is completed, they will proceed to Europe for an extended international shoot.
Musically, King will have music composed by Sachin–Jigar, whereas Anirudh will handle the background score. The film is targeting a release window of between October and December 2026, and hopes are already high.
