A man, a boy, a hurdle, a win and an emotional, euphoric end. This is what made TAARE ZAMEEN PAR a roaring success amongst class as well as mass audience who were happy to dig into the emotional quotient of the Aamir Khan starrer that did wonders. Now Sharman Joshi pretty much seems to be stepping into the same space with FERRARI KI SAWAARI though he insists that the core subject and narrative of his film is quite a distance away from the Aamir Khan flick.

”These two films are as different as chalk and cheese,” says Sharman, ”TAARE ZAMEEN PAR was about a child while FERRARI KI SAWAARI is more about the father. There has been no movie which has been written from this angle where a father’s relationship with his son has been showed at such intricate level. So far in Indian cinema there have been many movies made that have kept ‘mother’ as the central character. Surprisingly, though the loving and caring nature of a father hasn’t been portrayed on screen.”

For someone who has been known for his comic timing and has time and again brought fun on screen, it was the opportunity to play father in FERRARI KI SAWAARI that excited Sharman most.
”The film is more about father and son relationship and the intricacies of that relationship,” he says, ”While a gentle, loving, simple and caring side of his nature has been portrayed quite well here, it is also shown that he can be quite ferocious when it comes to protecting his son. You will see that aspect of a relationship here. This brings in a very interesting dynamics to this character.”
