Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has announced the closure of her iconic restaurant Bastian Bandra, one of Mumbai’s most celebrated dining destinations since 2016. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Shetty penned an emotional note, calling it “the end of an era.”
“This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai’s most iconic destinations – BASTIAN BANDRA. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city’s nightlife now takes its final bow,” she wrote.
Shetty revealed that the farewell will be marked with a special evening for loyal patrons, celebrating everything Bastian has represented over the years. While the Bandra outlet closes, the popular Arcane Affair Thursday night ritual will continue at Bastian at the Top, ensuring the legacy lives on. Bastian Bandra, co-owned by Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, was especially known for its seafood offerings.

Legal Controversy Surrounding Shetty and Kundra
The announcement comes just weeks after Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, were booked by Mumbai’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in a cheating case. A businessman, Deepak Kothari, alleged that the couple, along with their defunct company Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, defrauded him of ₹60.4 crore between 2015 and 2023 under the guise of business expansion. The EOW is currently investigating the matter.
Couple Denies Allegations
In response, the couple’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, dismissed the accusations as “baseless and malicious.” He clarified that the matter was a civil dispute already adjudicated by the NCLT in October 2024, stressing that no criminality was involved. Patil added that all required financial documents and cash flow statements had been submitted to authorities, and the company had already undergone liquidation.
