Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty recently invited director Farah Khan to her home for an open and entertaining vlog session. But the showstopper was Shilpa’s witty joke on her hubby, Raj Kundra, leaving Farah and the internet in giggles. As Raj debuts as an actor in a Punjabi movie, Shilpa couldn’t help but take a dig at his new ‘avatar’.
“Affair with a Sardaar”: Shilpa’s Witty Reply
At the vlog, when Farah Khan inquired, “Raj ji kidhar hain?” Shilpa lightheartedly responded, “Raj ji, mera na abhi actually filhaal affair chal raha hai ek sardaar ke saath.” Farah could be seen visibly shocked and responded, “What?” to which Shilpa made the remark, “Haan, Raj ji has left the building.”
The joke was about Raj Kundra’s newavatar for his movie Mehar, in which he is a Sikh man called Karamjeet Singh. While Shilpa laughed loudly, she explained, “Raj bann gaye hain actor. Can you imagine? Never say never bolna nahi chahiye.” Farah played along by stating, “Husband gaya, lover aaya,” and jokingly added, “Shirish (Kunder) kabhi toh jaa, taaki main koi lover laun ghar main!”
Seconds later, Raj Kundra surfaced on-screen in complete Mehar-costume attire to the amusement of all.
Raj Kundra Makes Lead Actor Debut in Mehar
Mehar is Raj Kundra’s second big-screen appearance and his first as a lead in a Punjabi movie. Rakesh Mehta directs the film, which features Raj as Karamjeet Singh, an extremely emotional and dramatic character, one that is opposite to his actual personality as a businessman.
The movie also has Geeta Basra playing a crucial role, which was her comeback after a prolonged hiatus from acting. The cast in supporting roles includes Master Agamveer Singh, Deep Mandeep, Ashish Duggal, Baninder Bunny, Savita Bhatti, Rupinder Rupi, Hobby Dhaliwal, Tarsem Paul, and Kulvir Sony.
Shilpa’s Public Praise for Raj Kundra
Last month in August, when the trailer of Mehar was released, Shilpa Shetty in a public post on social media admired her husband as the “new hero in town” and continued with, “He’s been my hero for years in real life.” She even congratulated the whole cast and crew and said that she cannot wait to see the movie. Mehar was released on Friday, September 5, and is on screens at cinemas all over India.
