Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein is all set to bring old-school charm back to the big screen. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur, the film will release on February 20, 2026 perfectly timed for Valentine’s week, promising audiences a heartfelt return to classic Hindi romance.
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film is positioned as a contemporary love story rooted in timeless emotionality. Producers Zee Studios and Bhansali Productions describe Do Deewane Seher Mein as a refreshing departure from modern rom-com trends, emphasising sincerity, melodic storytelling and an evocative musical score. The soundtrack will blend modern production techniques with sweeping, melodious arrangements reminiscent of Bollywood’s golden romantic era.
The title draws inspiration from the beloved song “Do Deewane Seher Mein” from the 1977 film Gharaonda, starring Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab. While the new film does not remake the classic, the choice of title signals a thematic homage to enduring love and simple, heartfelt storytelling—qualities Bhansali’s team aims to revisit.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali produces the film with Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal and Bharat Kumar Ranga, in association with Ravi Udyawar Films. Bhansali, known for his grand cinematic language, has recently delivered acclaimed works such as Gangubai Kathiawadi and Netflix’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. His production banner has also supported films like Tuesdays and Fridays and Malaal, showcasing its commitment to nurturing diverse stories and emerging talent.
Lead actor Siddhant Chaturvedi continues to strengthen his filmography following notable performances in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and Gehraiyaan, expanding on the acclaim he earned from his breakout role in Gully Boy. Mrunal Thakur, who has built a reputation for versatility, brings her own momentum from films like Sita Ramam, Jersey, and the anthology Lust Stories 2. Director Ravi Udyawar previously helmed the 2017 thriller Mom, featuring Sridevi in her final film role—a performance that remains one of Bollywood’s most cherished.
Meanwhile, Bhansali is also gearing up for his next directorial epic Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, set to release on August 14, 2026. With Do Deewane Seher Mein, the filmmaker continues to expand his cinematic universe, offering audiences a romance that promises freshness while celebrating the nostalgia of classic Hindi love stories.
