On the birth anniversary of late businessman Sunjay Kapur, his wife Priya Sachdev Kapur took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute, despite the ongoing legal battle surrounding his will. Her emotional post included a touching video montage featuring cherished memories with Sunjay — notably including his children with ex-wife Karisma Kapoor, Samara and Kiaan, amid their contentious inheritance dispute.
Priya captioned the video with a quote from the Bhagavad Gītā: “Whatever action a great man performs, others follow. Whatever path he walks, the world pursues… He who lives with purpose and love never perishes.” She continued with a moving personal message, writing, “You lived these words without ever needing to speak them. You led with kindness, not command… You never spoke of faith, you lived it.” She added, “Even now, your presence feels like quiet strength beside me… Some souls don’t depart; they expand. You are everywhere, yet still right here. My Sunjay, I know you are watching over me. Happy Birthday, J.”
While many praised Priya’s tribute and flooded the post with support, others were quick to point out the inclusion of Karisma Kapoor’s children in the video, given their ongoing legal battle with Priya over Sunjay’s estimated ₹30,000-crore estate.
The inheritance case, currently before the Delhi High Court, took a heated turn recently when Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma’s children, accused Priya of being “an acute gambler” and questioned the authenticity of the will. He claimed the will showed “serious infirmities” and lacked proof of being prepared or approved by Sunjay Kapur.
Karisma’s children, Samara and Kiaan, allege Priya manipulated or forged the will to secure a larger share of the inheritance. They have previously described her as a “Cinderella stepmother,” accusing her of mistreatment and exclusion.
